We are excited about the official kick off of Project Grace.
Grace was born with Cystic Fibrosis and to make matters worse, her stomach was not attached to her intestines. It was definitely touch-and-go the first 65 days of her life, all of them being spent in the hospital. But God truly answered prayers and here she is today. She is the namesake of HHAC’s Project Grace outreach for children and teens in and around Uvalde who are ill or have gone through traumatic events.
Our crochet group, The Yarn Whisperers and Quilters, the Piece Makers presented their works of love to Grace and Anne, her mom.
Some of the beautiful crochet and quilts items will go to CASA (Tri-County Court Appointed Special Advocates) here in Uvalde.
We are also making plans for our Wood Shop, Thomas Woodworks, to get involved when it gets cooler. Be looking for announcements about “Toys of Grace” in the near future.
Dora Cruz and Diana Bonnet are heading up CHARITY QUILTS OF GRACE where quilts will be given to older local children and teens in similar situations. The first information and planning meeting will be Monday September 10, at 9:00 at HHAC. We are requesting donations of fabric, thread, sewing notions, sewing machines and you! If you don’t know how to sew and want to learn this would be a great opportunity.
So mark your calendars for. . .
